Date created not saved when transferring pictures from PC to Samsung S6

I noticed when I copied a large batch of pictures, 10,000+, from my PC to the internal storage of my S6 via a USB cable, the files have a new "date created" date, the new "date created" is the same as the date of the day the files were transferred, instead of the original created date. because of this, all the pictures are in some random order rather than in the order they were taken, sorting is no help as they all have the same date created.

does anyone know of a way to transfer the files and keep the original date create? with my old S5 it was a simple matter of transferring files to the removable SD card which did not overwrite the date created.

The Android file system doesn’t allow apps to write to date unless the device is rooted.

there are several picture viewer apps that can sort the pics by take date by reading the image exif info. try quickpic
