Virus?

I just got this text, twice, from the same number. First time I opened the text, but did not click on the link that's in there. It's a string of numbers and letters with a link in there. After the first text, about 3 minutes later I had a download show up. I deleted the text and the foremost without opening it. The second time the text showed up I didn't open it at all, so far no download.
Just curious if this could be a virus someone is trying to install and what should I look out for? Any other precautions I should take at this point, or take a wait and see attitude?

It is your best bet to just block it. This is just some random spam number trying to get people to click things. I wouldn't worry as long as you didn't open anything they sent.
