I can't download apps from Google play store

It could be a number of reasons, can you please answer the below questions?

1) have you properly set the phone up, registering a Gmail account?
2) Do you have data available?
3) Do you have WiFi available?
4) What error message are you getting from the Play Store?
5) Where did you buy the phone from?
