Hancom Office needs access to my contacts? Why

As the title says...

Why?
When I selected deny, now I can't open docs from my Google Drive unless I go enable the feature
Is there another way to view GD docs w/o Hancom?

I typically use Google's app for viewing. It's kind of a pain to edit something already made (to be fair, some of my documents have a strange layout anyway).

I didn't see a way to change the default app, once I disabled Hancom and installed Google docs, all is well in Google Drive land

except that gmail now gives google documents and drive access to all your contacts......

Well that sucks. At least they did it behind my back and didn't ask for my permission like Hancom did
