How can I stop my S6 from constantly seeking networks?

A

AC Question

Hi! Recently, the battery on my Galaxy S6 has been draining very, very quickly. Checking settings, the culprit appears is Wi-Fi. For instance, today I'm at 2h 22m on battery, I'm at 74% and Wi-Fi is responsible for a whopping 79% of that depletion. Looking further, I noticed that the device seems to be seeking connections every 5-10 seconds. A phone and router reboot did not fix this, nor did turning off Nearby Device Scanning and all of the Advanced Wifi options in settings. Any ideas/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Note: I'm on AT&T and on version 6.0.1 as of June 1. There was also a small update last week and believe the problems may have started after that.

Hi

Goto settings> Connections> Wifi> at top right MORE> Then ADVANCED.

You should find what you're looking for, there.
