Up until about a month ago my phone was acting as it should, dying when it reaches but for the last month it's been dying without warning before the battery drops to zero. The higher it died on was 60%. Had the phone now for about 2 years. Would like some feedback on what I should do as I'm not quite ready to get a new phone just yet.

You've killed the battery. Have it replaced, that's the only thing you can do.

In the future, charge it when it reaches 40% (or 39%) or turn it off. You're lucky - running the battery down to 0% for a month or two usually kills it. (Charge at 40, stop charging by 80 is the best rule to follow for long battery life. If you don't mind replacing batteries [and it's no longer a $10 replacement from eBay], keep discharging the new one to 0%. But you might never get that lucky again, and you may be replacing batteries every month or two.)

Lithium batteries are not deep-discharge batteries.
