can't receive content of long texts

I have a Galaxy s6. I'm using the native messages app. Recently it stopped showing all content of long text messages and instead shows "View All" at the bottom of the message. When I click on it, it only shows the date and time the message was sent and data "no subject." How can I get my text messages?
Yes, mobile data is turned on.
