Coming from the following phones in this order...

    G4>Note 5>Nexus 6P>Turbo 2

Out of the past phones the Note 5 had awesome battery life. The S7 Edge is exactly the same. Getting 7+ hrs of SOT with this thing. Couldn't get near 4 hrs SOT with the G4, 6P ot the Turbo 2. Not sure why as I run the same set up. Anyway this phones battery life is rock solid and I will not be leaving for anything else other than possibly the Note 6 (Depending on the size). And overnight battery drain is holding at about 2-3%.

I am getting horrendous battery life on the S7 edge. 1.5 hours SOT. 25% battery drain overnight. This is almost stock out of box. Only updated WhatsApp and running Nova Launcher Prime. All diagnostics reporting / background reporting is off, WiFi / Bluetooth scanning is off. Auto update of apps is off, location is off as I only use it when I need to infrequently use Google Maps. It's set not to use mobile networks and wifi in any case. I've disabled all crapware in the applications menu as well. I have no idea what to do, short of a cache clear and factory reset. I don't even think these would be effective but it seems like the next step. I had this same sort of battery drain on a Note 3 and 4 which leads me to believe it's Android and not the phones.

    Any ideas?
Just to add to my previous post: my phone is clearly not sleeping. BBS shows Awake as 95% and Deep Sleep as 5%. I can't see any further detail as it requires root. Any help appreciated.

Bear in mind that battery life may depend on which model of S7 you have. Global with Exynos 8890 chip or U.S./Chinese with Snapdragon 820, as these GSMArena comparisons on the S7 Edge demonstrate.

    GLOBAL EXYNOS 8890

    U.S./CHINESE SNAPDRAGON 820

Has anyone experienced more than usual battery drain with Bluetooth? I've had Bluetooth on for all my previous devices as well since I use it with my car and fitness band, and on S7 edge Bluetooth share is showing in the top3 most battery draining apps on Gsam. It is draining 6-7% each cycle.

Interesting part is that it shows Bluetooth itself draining only 1% on gsam but the app Bluetooth share is the one draining the battery. Is this a Samsung thing?

I am using T-Mobile version with SD820 if that matters.

Now my battery drain is terrible and I can't pinpoint why, I don't think anything changed so no idea what's going on

How do people get to that screen like the guy had in the video that tells his screen on time? I can never find it under battery in settings. The way I calculate screen on time is X using my phone a full hour without turning it off and saying how many percent of lost in that hour. Anytime I do that with the S7 Edge, I lose 12%. So by my calculation, that's about eight and a half hours screen on time, but that's so much more than what this guy is bragging about, I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

When you're under battery ... you have to click on "Screen"

That will show you the screen on time

Okay when I go to screen, it says time on on: 23 minutes. I'm pretty sure my battery life is better than 23 minutes. LOL

Post a screen shot of your battery and screen on time. .

So we can see if it's okay

I would also point out that my personal method of just counting how many percentages I lose during an hour when I'm actively using the phone was pretty much in line with reported battery life on the S7. By that method, I was losing about 20% an hour, which seems to extrapolate to 5 hours screen on time.

I'll see if I can post one, but I'm confident it's okay. My complaint is not that I'm not getting enough battery life , I'm just wondering if I'm calculating it wrong because it would seem to suggest I'm getting insanely better battery life than even others are reporting.

Just had a thought that might clarify it. When it says come on, are people checking this when their phone is close to 0 and then this tells them how long their screen was able to be on before reaching that point? Because I just started using my phone off of fresh charge.

Yes. Basically check it around 15% without charging it in between. Then upload screen on time pics

Its good! My mom's S7 edge usually sits around 1 and a half day of battery life with 5 hours screen on time. Im so jealous of the battery life on S7 edge as my S6 edge hardly survives a day.

The best would be to charge your phone when it says so. Comes up with a notification to charge at a 15% .

That would kind of negate the point of buying the wireless charger.
