Looks like the GSM carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile) are first to dive into the Nougat.
A coworker who also has an S7 Edge, on T-Mobile downloaded it.. and it reminded me so much of the Note 7 after it was installed.

I just KNOW Verizon is going to keep that dumb settings screen, unlike everyone else who has moved on to the new Note 7-style set up.

Does it have the new Note 7 style settings screen, with the categories?

I had the beta and loved it. I was having terrible battery drain though like 5 to 10% per hour. Went back to stock and it's completely gone. I do miss it but battery drain drives me crazy

Why Verizon why. This is so stupid. And you wonder why things take forever to roll out. It's because of crap like this that is totally not needed.

I guess these developers at VZ have nothing better to do.

The AT&T Galaxy S7 is getting its long-awaited Nougat update | Android Central

The race to last getting Nougat is on, my money is on Sprint getting it first because Verizon will take a couple of extra weeks/months to make sure VZ Navigator and DT Ignite and all their other bloatware is working flawlessly in Nougat before they push out the OTA

It's crazy that AT&T got it so quickly in comparison when they didn't even do a beta. Guess that doesn't help any

Don't worry, Sprint has their own bloatware to prove...

I'd like to know as well!! If I could switch carriers I would! Unfortunately Verizon is the only carrier that works here. Sprint has little coverage, t-mobile is none and AT&T is even worse. 🙁

If for no other reason than 6 months of security patches, I want nougat and will be updating the day that VZW makes it available.

You're going to switch carriers over an incremental software update? Lol

I'd hate to see the guy that cuts you off in traffic

My friend had the grandfathered Verizon unlimited plan, which used to get internet to his house through a 3G access point.

Verizon informed him a couple months ago that he was going to be cut off-- no more unlimited data, pick a new data plan.

So, rather than pay something like $700 for a 120GB plan, he opted to go through a local internet provider with a 3GB/s radio link.

He went to Verizon to pick a data plan, only to find out that Verizon is offering a new unlimited data plan.

Luckily, the new provider hadn't done any installation yet, so he was able to cancel.

If he uses a jet pack he is only limited to 10gs

He said that the 3G hotspot he's been using was doing the job adequately, so any sort of upgrade will likely be gravy.

I have been seeing a lot of complaints about Nougat on the S7E... The push toward white/light colors (I can't stand white), features removed from stock apps, battery life in the crapper... I think I may stay away from it when it finally does come to Verizon customers.

Everyone has different needs and likes. I myself really enjoy Nougat on my S7 Edge. I could never go back to Marshmallow and I am only on beta 1. I cannot wait for the final release.
