Hello guys, I have a bit of an issue, I want to use the Smart Stay function on my galaxy S7 edge.

The function is turned ON in settings, but I never get the eye symbol, that tells me that the function is tracking my eyes and working, on matter in what lightning conditions..

Have Samsung removed this feature and smart scroll from the galaxy S7??

    Thanks for your help

Welcome to Android Central! Is your front-facing camera blocked?

I don't think so, the front facing camera works perfect in selfie mode.

Does the camera have to be separately activated for that purpose?

I don't believe the front camera has to be separately activated. It's possible that some 3rd party app that has Camera permissions might be causing issues. Also, do you have any power saving modes turned on?

A quick and easy way to determine if some 3rd party app is causing the interference is to boot into Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-24977. If the problem goes away in Safe Mode, then you know something you installed is the culprit. The tricky part is figuring out which app.

Smart Stay works on mine. I can be looking at the screen and it stays on well in excess of my timeout setting, but as far as I can tell they have removed the eye icon - I have never seen it on the S7. Also didn't have the eye icon on my Galaxy S6 or Galaxy Tab S2.

Ok that interesting to know. But then what about the Smart Scroll?

I've had smart stay enabled since S4 days and it has never worked for me. Tried it on my s7 Edge and it still doesn't work. Total waste for me.

Okay then, I was starting to wonder if there was something wrong with my Samsung. Buy it seams like a general problem.
