I'm a self-confessed phone-a-holic. I love trying new flagships - I've bought and sold probably 6 phones in the past year. And I can now say with very little doubt that I've found the phone I can settle with for at least a year (I won't commit to 2

    - Perfect size. For a 5.5" screen it's the most narrow and most comfortable phone out there.
    - Features Features Features. I tried a Nexus 6P - although nice, Vanilla Android is just tooooo Vanilla. And the funny thing with Android N, they are adding in features slowly that have been in Samsung's version for years.
    - Fast. SD 820, 'nuff said. I don't care how feature heavy Touch wiz is. The 820 yawns through any activity.
    - Big Battery. Lord knows why so many manufacturers man-crushed on 3000 mah (I'm looking at you Moto X Pure, LG V10, upcoming LG G5 even smaller, etc...) Samsung pulled off some magic fitting such a large battery into this form factor.
    - The Edge... gimmicky for some, but I've found some REAL use for it. I love the night clock mode as well. The V10's extra screen was out of reach to make it useful, and caused the phone to be huge.
    - The Camera - nothing to say here. Well publicized as the best phone camera out there today.

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, cause the majority of you love the S7 Edge just as much. I actually feel a bit sorry for LG and HTC even though their new phones are not even out. Samsung fired a preemptive strike that has essentially sunk the competition for 2016.

I tried out the lg v10 and actually enjoyed the phone but 2 to 3 hours of screen on time is unacceptable to me. I think Samsung hit it out of the park with the s7 edge. It's the best battery life I have ever had on an android phone. I'd sure like to see battery advancements like we have with screen and processors over the last few years.

Have to agree with OP. Jumped from my Note 5 (which was the best phone prior to the S7 Edge IMO) with no regrets.

Love the form factor, how they made a 5.5" screen and 3,600mAh battery feel so small is an incredible achievement. No more hand cramping like the Note 5 when I'm on the phone for hours.

I can't see anyone beating this phone, except Samsung with the next Note & S series phones. Samsung has pulled so far ahead of the competition that I don't see anyone ever coming close unless Samsung makes some type of fatal mistake in their design dept. in the future.

Well I'm loving my s7 edge. It's got a fantastic screen and chipset that makes for a great gaming experience. There is one thing that's not so good and that's audio quality on the snapdragon variant. It's low dull and lifeless. So bad I bought a external solution.

Are you referring to when using headphones? Because I stream bluetooth to my car & to my JBL Flip 3 and it sounds just as good as my Note 5 did.

Well everything really car, speakers and yes headphones. I also had the note 5 which had better audio. The snapdragon has a dac that is not as good as the exynos version unfortunately. Like I said though I still love the phone.

I agree. Samsung really did a great job with this phone. I have been extremely happy with it. I also have a phone addiction. I should be able to keep this phone for a decent time. At least until the Note 6 arrives and I get a look at the new flagship this fall. For now I am happy.

Well, I tried the Note 5. Wonderful phone, but I missed being able to do simple tasks one handed. I also didn't find myself using the S pen enough. I don't think whatever they add to the note 6 will be enough for me to try it (SD card?)

Hopefully they add a SD card slot. I don't see why they would not. It's such a great option to have.

Speaker is almost always and understandably not going be great because of the small size. I mean the headphones jack.

The audio is terrible with this snapdragon chipset. I just switched from an old iPhone 4s and cannot believe how bad the audio quality is compared to it. I've tested with 4 pairs of headphones and some high quality denon cans and it's not even close. I tested against my buddies s4 and s5 and it is just so soft and flat. My other friend got the S7 from Verizon and he has the same weak audio as I do. I have AT&T BTW. I tried every option in the sound settings and the adaptive sound doesn't help at all. I am almost to the point where I would take it back but I really want to like this phone. Everything else is amazing.

Does anyone else have this issue? Think this is possible to fix with a software update from the carriers or are we screwed? Very disappointed. 😑

It should sound good out of the box though. It's sad my 4 year old iPhone whips this by a long shot. I would love to root but I need my device unrooted to test mobile apps at work. Not sure what I'm going to do. I got a few days left before I am stuck with it. Oh well. Hoping for an update but that is wishful thinking.

@twostrokesmoke The only thing that helped me was a external dac(Fiio Q1).

@ironass unfortunately you can't root snapdragon
