camera shooting question might be a dumb one but..

When taking photos with the original 4:3 aspect ratio, am I supposed to be holding the phone in the normal position (vertical) or should I still turn the phone sideways as if I were shooting in 16:9? Sorry if it's a lame question. But just curious!

It all depends which way you want to see the most detail. Imagine if you want to shoot a flagpole you would have it upright, but if you was shooting something wide then it would be landscape.

it's still the same idea, since 4:3 isn't a square, there is still orientation to the image, vertically oriented pictures would be taken with the phone in portrait and horizontally oriented images would be taken in landscape.
