No sound on alarms

Hey I have the s7 edge and I've set an alarm and the sound doesn't come through its happened about 8 times now. It also has no sound on buttons and I have to restart is there any fix

Alarm sound is a different way. To setup sound for alarm increase your alarm sound.

Are you using dnd? If so make sure to allow alarms.

It's also happening on my phone, it's not DND, muted or anything else. I'm also finding that some phone calls don't ring and if i try to play music while it's in this state it doesn't play straight away but takes about 10 seconds to start and fades in. Restarting seems to set it right but not for long.
My partner has an identical phone yet has no issue, we've both installed all updates, the same apps etc so i'm wondering if it's possibly hardware related.
