I know that the S7 Edge has 5.5 inch screen but how much of it is actually of use? I know that there's a small space that is unavailable for use, just how much?

All of the screen space is available to use since the phone has hardware navigation buttons.

Perhaps you're asking about the curved edge space? It's all usable.

There is the very small slice reserved for the pull out for the edge panels. It's very small relative to the rest of the screen, but does take up some screen space nonetheless.

I'm not sure you can even count that tab considering you can change it to 100 percent transparent... So you can't see it at all

You can disable the edge panel and use 100% of the 5.5" screen

And even without disabling it you can change the transparency to 100 percent and not see the edge tab but still be able to use it
