Looking to see if anyone can help me. I've been less than impressed with the s7 edge battery life and I don't do any gaming or anything like that which would kill the battery quick. I've turned off most of the frills like the always on and other things. I figured the screen would be the leading drain on my battery since I like the screen really bright but then I checked the battery stats and found android system is showing as the top drain on the battery at 44% while the screen is number 2 at 21% Can anyone help me?

Stats on mine show Android at 35.8%. It has been over 40 hours since the last charge and I'm still at 47% charge. Don't really see that as a problem.

You might try an app Gsam battery monitor. It's free and gives a few more details. Sometimes you find a naughty app.

Try to restart in safe mode and see if you still have the same problem.

Remember that battery usage is a zero sum game. The total of all usage MUST add up to 100%. The less other apps and processes are in use, the greater the percentage of usage will go to Android system. If you charge your battery to 100%, then put it in a drawer and don't touch it for 2 or 3 days, Android system and the OS will probably add up to 80% or more.
    KPMcClave and Trees like this.

OK so I started it in safe mode last night before going to bed and then I put it on the charger. At 9am I unplugged it at 100 percent and set it aside. There were no apps running. At just before 11, I received a call and saw it was at 99 percent. After a few minutes I hung up and set the phone back down. At about 1135, I picked it back up and it was at 98 percent. Surfing the net using Chrome for about 10 minutes and it's now down to 94 percent at 1145. Maybe this is a normal battery consumption rate, and if it is please tell me so I can stop feeling like my phone is a 700 dollar piece of garbage. Just with all the hype about thevery huge battery in this thing I figured the battery wouldn't drain so fast.

You can't judge anything after just a couple of hours and 6% battery usage. Use the phone for a whole day, the way you normally would, and see how the battery lasts.Right now I'm at 16 hours on battery (about 8 hours of that overnight, while I was sleeping, with 55% left and 2 1/2 hours SOT (It's been a pretty light usage day because I've been busy with other things.)

Not to mention that it seems Android System is at the top of my battery stats even when I have the screen on a lot. I agree this is counter to what I've normally seen on any prior phone I've had. Screen always used the most battery.

GSam currently shows my averages as 19 H 10 M on a full charge, and 8 H 10 M SoT (and i've had a max of actual SoT of 8 H 2 M). So, the historically unusual battery use rankings certainly aren't something that alarms me. I am curious about it, though.

Perhaps check location services and check GPS is off (leaving WiFi and Cellular on) and perhaps even switch location off completely to see if it has an affect.
