Always been an Apple guy with family members all on Apple devices. I've always also had a trap phone - more often than not an Android device and I've never had the inclination to change. Also bought the Galaxy S7 edge as a trap phone and just thought I'll give it a whirl on my main number. With hesitation I turned off iMessage and Facetime and started using the S7 edge as my main phone.

One thing that jumped at me is how clear and loud the calls sounded. I was thinking I should visit an E&T specialist when I had my iPhone but my ears actually ache if the volume is too loud now.

Secondly camera has been nothing short of stellar on the S7. Some pictures look a little sharper but rather that than hazy.

Third battery - the price I paid for 2 day battery on my iPhone is the humongous form factor. S7 lasts longer and is smaller and therefore better for one hand use. Yes, the iPhone burns less battery in standby but I'm a heavy user so that's a moot point.

Long story short, I switched my sim back to my 6S plus this weekend. It was a huge disappointment especially in camera. The pics were a let down and I can't believe I've used this phone for so long. Come Monday morning, I've swapped the sim back to my 'trusty' S7 again.

Looks like the iPhone has lost out the race for my pocket. And I feel that since I've successfully broken the apple dependancy on iMessage and Facetime, going back seems ill advised.

Ditched my 6+ for the S7 Edge. Don't think I will ever go back to Apple unless I see some major changes. Which isn't very likely to happen. I was never one to sync across all devices and such so the simplicity factor was never very huge for me. Now, I feel like I can get more done with this one device than I could on my Mac and iPhone.

I'm looking at ditching my 6s Plus for the S7 edge. Just ordered one on Swappa and should be here in a couple of days. My wife has an S6 edge Plus and the pictures on that phone are considerably better than they are on my 6s Plus. In addition, this is a really large phone for the screen size. I love that the S7 edge is about the size of the regular 6s. I'm a little worried about the SD card issue a lot of users seem to be having, but I'll just try to swap it out at AT&T if something goes awry.

I have to say like many above, i dont think i'll ever go back to Apple(came from 6s) unless they do something drastic. I love the edge screen, it just pops at you, HD wallpapers are a thing of beauty in this device. The pictures taken with this phone, look stunning, at least while looking at them on the phone. The ease of adding ringtones, downloading files.. and airdroid(as simple as it gets to exchange between phone and computer) make this the best i've had. It does get warm at times but nothing alarming. The battery lasts as much as id like it to and also the piece of mind that it'll hold some water, couldn't be happier. Id have to admit it takes a bit getting used to the edge screen, i keep pressing stuff by mistake.

One thing I have always disliked about iOS is the dialer keypad. It uses up so much of the screen no matter what size the iPhone and the dialer is the same size on every iPhone. Sure you can use reachability to lower the keypad so you can reach the numbers at the top but that's just more steps to do what I can easily do with one hand on my Android phones. See what I mean in the picture below. There is a Note 5, S7 Edge and the iPhone 6S+. The S7 Edge and 6S+ have nearly the same screen size.

One thing I forgot to mention(maybe underestimated) is the waterproofing. We've had some rains in Australia recently and it's such a peace of mind just keeping the phone in the suit pocket knowing that the phone will be fine.

One pleasant surprise I wasn't expecting is how great the call quality it. It is much more clear than my 6s plus is. I can hear people so much better. Not a big deal to most but I make a ton of voice calls.

Same here. Came from the 6s+ and am very happy. The call audio quality was a surprise for me. I have used other Samsung phones and don't remember such a stark difference moving to and from the iPhone.

To be frank, I like both the iPhone 6s and Galaxy S7e. They're both wonderful phones IMHO and they are a great showcase device for their respective platforms.

The 6s' camera is starting to show some signs of struggle in low-light, so that'll probably get sorted out in the 7, though I do love the rest of the phone, coming from an Android guy. But I L.O.V.E. the S7e. For the fact that it takes the S6 and improves on it in almost every respect. Better battery life, expandable storage, lighter software, water-resistance, better ergonomics, etc.

They're not perfect, though. No phone is. The S7e is still quite slippery and it's a fingerprint magnet. And the iPhone 6s still doesn't have T9 dialing for some reason.

As for me, it's the still-unannounced-but-I'm-hyped-for-it Galaxy Note 6.

I guess I'm getting old. I had to google "trap phone." LOL.

I'm surprised at the number of posts I've seen on this forum from people switching to the S7 / Edge from iPhones. Even if a relatively small percentage of iPhone users are doing this, it's got to be bad news for Apple and good news for Samsung. Looks like Samsung has as big a winner on its hands this time as the S6 was a sales disappointment.

I will still get the SE as an iOS side kick, but it will just be for fun. The S7 is my primary device until the Note 6 hits.

I couldn't justify carrying a big *** iPhone 6S Plus anymore. One thing Apple have going for them is the resale price so I sold the 6S plus and thought I would get the SE but it was too small for practical use and I felt it cramped my hands. Hence a 6S was procured and becomes my 'trap' phone now. Pretty sure, I'll get the 7 when it comes out.

Side note, the S7 works a treat with my Gear S2.
