We'll I can tell you this...... I got the new s7 edge 10 days ago from best buy and 2 days ago I noticed a pink line down the left edge ..... I called the geek squad and was told this is a hardware defect and it's within 14 days so go back to best buy for a replacement ......I went there yesterday and was told......no this is not a hardware defect...they said it's my fault for dropping it...... I never once dropped it ....I have the screen protector on it and an Otterbox case......I have been so careful with it......the manager at best buy suggested it happened in my bag ....maybe keys bumped the screen in my bag she said........... they refused to do anything for me since it's my fault ......unless I pay a hundred dollars deductible and since then there is now 2 pink lines and a green line.........so either this phone is SOOOOO SENSITIVE that it was damaged just from being in my bag and something touching it OR it was defective from the start .........either way is disappointing.............and I'm the one getting screwed on this deal ......buyer beware!
File a complaint. Try to get a hold of Samsung. Some repair guys tried to do similar to a guy in UK, and they apparently received a call from Samsung and the phone gor fixed free.

I would say the Edge is a little more fragile than the regular S7 due to the screen having that curve. If something were to catch that curve just right it could cause some issues or a break. I am usually pretty careful (or try to be but I am human)... I dropped my S7 Edge (first phone in like a year or more) but I have a Spigen Neo Hybrid case on it. It caught the corner, scuffed the case some, but phone is okay (phone did luckily land on its back).
Happened to me, dropped it on asphalt with those little rocks on it and one caught it right on the curve. Completely smashed the screen to the extent bits of it was coming off. Obviously completely ruined the screen and had to get a new one on insurance.

That's the only thing with the edge is the stress on the screen from the curved design that it doesn't take much. In the end it really just depends on how the device lands. It's mostly just luck whether or not it breaks.

Both phone screens are fragile. You MUST put a case on these phones or you will regret it. Anything that needs repair on them is hugely expensive to replace. Whatever you do, don't drop these phones.

I was at Best Buy today looking at different things including phones that I don't need. So I'm looking at the S7 Edge and though not the first time it up it suddenly struck me as a cheesy looking phone. Too each his own but its just not for me and it looks way too delicate. At least its waterproof.
