Mine just started doing this. I've got green areas, purple lines and gray dots and lines all over the screen. However it depends on the background: if I'm browsing the settings there is no problem, but if I'm reading an article or scrolling on Facebook it is unusable. The worst thing is that it overheats like hell, so I had to turn it off immediately. Battery almost drained as well...

I have had the exact issue with mine after 3 months,
Reported mine to virgin mobile and they wanted £268 to fix it even though i haven't caused it and loads of users reporting same issue. Samsung have been kind enough to arrange pick up for phone and should be delivered back today.
Hopefully its working now once i get it back.

Soo guys..my phone had gone for warranty...for screen replacement as I had a defective display...I also complained that battery life was bad...so the engineer replaced the battery with a new one...just to inform that when screen is replaced it comes with new metal frame and new home button...I am happy phone is brand new again...
Haven't installed many apps but battery life is very good as of now..
They took around 1 week to do the job coz display was in stock..but battery took time to arrive...
Soo far very happy with new display as old one had many scratches..and metal frame had a dent...
And home button had scratches as well..so new display with new home button and new metal frame.. 😆

I think i may have found a solution, still have to do some testing. I was rooted on PD8 firmware and then after a few days i encountered the same issue as you have. What i did was reflash stock through odin which will factory reset your phone in the process. When you boot and set it up you'll still see these lines but only for the setup, they should go away after a few minutes. if they don't then go to settings->Display->Screen Mode-> and put it on either basic or AMOLED photo. good luck to you. I'm going to a tmo store tomorrow to see what they say

Just happened to me today. Purple spots. My always on clock also looked green so I turned it off. Once I did that the screen never came back on. Only green flashes. Sucks. Sent it out to Sammy to get fixed. Hopefully it'll still be waterproof when I get it back.
Its not waterproof to begin with, just water resistant and if water gets in the charging port, it gives you a " moisture detected" message and wont let you charge it.

I bought my S7 edge gold (screen protector is in black) on 13th July. This vertical lines happened on the Day 3 after purchase.
I got the device replaced by samsung as it was within 7days of purchase warranty.
Got the new device on Tuesday, 19th July. and this device (gold again) started showing the same thing yesterday!!!
    SO FREAKING FRUSTRATED!

Is this issue with gold coloured devices only? as my friends with the black has no issue like this what-so ever.
Will they give me another replacement?

    Also, battery drains so fast!
    So regret getting a samsung.

    My story:
Samsung S7 Edge, color gold, bought last month at T-mobile in the Netherlands.

    - within approx. 2/3weeks, the "always on" clock disappeared and randomly colored pixels started blinking on and off, after that the screen turned almost green. I turned the"always on" clock feature off and wanted to monitor the situation a bit longer before I visit the T-mobile store, I was already expecting that it was a begin of something more serious...
    - after 3 weeks, in the morning, after charging the phone, weird, mostly purple bar codes started appearing. It occurred a couple of mornings in a row, always after charging. After cooling the phone down the problem disappeared. I also noticed that the black color looked weird in some pictures.
    - after 4 weeks, in the morning, the phone screen died. I tried all possible button combinations to restart it, but the screen is partly while, partly black.

I have visited a couple of forums and I see it is common problem ...
The only choice I have is to send it for repair, but it takes 2-3 weeks...

    Update 1:
The first T-mobile employee said that she can only send my phone for repair and that I won't have a phone for 2-3 weeks. I went to the Samsung authorized repair store and they said the same. I came back to T-mobile and another employee, looked at my screen for 1 second, did not seem surprised at all, confirmed this is a very common problem, and told me that within 48 hours I will receive an e-mail about a brand new phone being delivered to my house. I should have it within a couple of days. Let's see how that goes...

Samsung has previous issues with the Amoled screens , having green, pink, purple lines, streaks, dots, or completely turning a solid color; since the former Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 edge. It's a defect in the screens. The new Galaxy S7 & Galaxy S7 edge have the same problems. If you google, How to fix pink & green tint on screens on Galaxy S7 & Galaxy S7 edge it will come up. You don't have to damage the phones for this problems to occur. Samsung & cellphone carriers will say you must have dropped or did water damage to the phone. These problems with the Amoled screens have occurred for sometime. Why couldn't it be fixed before the new models Samsung Galaxy S7 & Samsung Galaxy S7 edge were released to consumers. Paying $700.00 to $800.00 dollars per phone and the phone having screen problems less than 3 months after purchase, we have scammed, robbed,. They want me to use the extra warranty that I purchased for a manufacturing defect. Wow. The phone is under Manufacturer warranty for a year. If you send the phone back to Samsung; they are going to say that the phone has water damage. And it's not covered by Manufacturer's warranty. Once again we have been robbed, scammed.

Can someone who is experiencing this try sliding a mirror around the front screen(without actually touching it of course). I know on CRT screens this same scenario would happen if it were not for auto degaussing on TV's. Magnet is essentially degaussing. So... I was wondering maybe a magnetic backing is causing this?

I got the same problem too. All of the sudden half the screen would have vertical streaks. I had to go back to the retailer and get the phone switched.

Just got the same issue with my phone: purple lines and blotches elsewhere. If you go to Facebook you see vertical purple ghost lines in the upright position, but when you turn the phone to horizontal the lines roll back.
