I'm looking to get the S7 edge and I want to know if it has a native file manager built in. I want to use an SD card and I don't want to have to use a third party app for it. If it does, is it easy to get setup? Meaning put the card in and have it download a driver and then ready to use. My old BlackBerry was as simple as placing the SD card in the phone then download the driver and good to go. Want to use it for photos and music with no hassles. Sorry for the long post but I want to make sure I'm getting the right phone, thanks.

Don't even need a driver just put it in and it shows up just like a drive/folder in the Samsung my files app

Thanks for that. So you won't need any third party apps to view photos or play music?

I would download Solid Explorer from the Play Store. It is the best I've used.

are you talking about when you insert the card into a computer? the card will be read just like an external drive.
or if you plug the phone to pc with usb cable, you can view files like a drive also.

and there is an app called "my files" that comes on the phone as a file manager. it in apps, under the samsung folder.

I'm looking for easy setup to use my SD card, not wanting to have to use third party Apps. Just seeing if I can get it to be used like in my old BlackBerry. My current BlackBerry PRIV has been a total pain to get the SD card to work (still doesn't). Just want a smooth use for it to work. Thanks

jpg files, mp3 files, no problem - the phone does them natively. But if you put a file with some strange format on the card, you'll also have to install an app that can view or play that file type. (Phones don't play files, apps do.)
