What seems to be the micro SD card that every is using? I just got a S7 Edge today and I'm wanting to buy a new card. I'm thinking either the 128gb Samsung evo + or the 128gb Sandisk Ultra. Which is better?

Can't go wrong with a Samsung card. Some people have reported problems using Sandisk over the past few years with Samsung devices.

I'm using a 128GB SanDisk with no problems at all. Been using them for many years with BlackBerry and now a Samsung with no issues or complaints.

Make sure you use an app called SD Insight to check the SD card. There are many counterfeits/fakes sold all over the place.

Sandisk has had some issues in Samsung phones as NexusGirlX stated above. Not every Sandisk card fails but they have had issues. It's all over Google.

I use an Emtec 64gb class 10 card that I bought for $14 at microcenter. I have one in my Nvidia Shield tablet as well, and the performance is fantastic.

I'd be a lot more concerned with the write speeds than whether its SanDisk or Samsung. I personally use SanDisk Extreme Plus cards. If you're going to be recording video onto your card, especially with 4K recording, you'll probably want at least 80MB or 90MB write speeds. You run the risk of jumpy videos or videos dropping frames otherwise.

Cheaper class 10 cards will probably do fine if you're only going to be storing files and photos.

Yeah I thought about it, but I don't really see myself recording 4K at all since I don't have a TV for it or anything that would display it. I'm fine without it so I ended up getting a 128gb Samsung evo + at best buy for $45

You CAN go wrong with a Samsung - Samsung did with the S3 4.4.2 update. It started eating SD cards. SanDisk figured out the problem and came out with cards that bypassed it - before Samsung acknowledged that there was a problem.

The price for legitimate cards from the 2 manufacturers are about the same, so I stick with the company that invented the technology - SanDisk. (They're also easier to deal with if you have to - SanDisk microSD Tech Support gets you a live person who actually knows something.)

I use a Samsung 32gb Evo, it has write speeds of up to 48MB/s and read speeds of up to 72MB/s using UHS-1 interface. Very good band for the buck.

But Sandisk doesn't have any really good 128gb cards available. This is why I went with Samsung.

Hi, has anyone noticed a 0.5-1 second wake up lag (from when phone is in standby for a minute etc) with the SD card inserted? I'm noticing this slight lag compared to if you wake up the phone without the SD card inserted. Anyone else can reproduce this?
