Is there any way to use the "Okay, Google" voice search (without tapping the button) with a widget other than Google's own (and without turning on the any screen feature; I just want it to listen when I am on the home page)? Google's widget is needlessly large and I would rather have something that looked nicer.

If you use this with Nova Launcher, you can adjust the width.

It's an old widget but it still works. OK google works also.

I always use the Any Screen feature so not sure if it works w/that off.

Why not just turn on the always listening feature then? Go to Google app>menu button>voice>detection>turn on from any screen and trusted voice.

Nvm. I just noticed you don't want any screen. Maybe trusted voice only?

Nova Launcher will listen for OK Google on the home screen without any widget at all.

Nova is your best option. It also has its own Google Widget. Or just go with no widget. Either way, you get what you want.
    Bag of Leaves likes this.

Thanks, but it says in the description "(It does not react to the 'OK Google')".

I don't use it enough to need it on any screen, plus I assume that drains the battery a lot more.

It works. I've used it for a while and it works w/Google Now.
