so I've been reading maybe 22 posts and I think to myself. just restart the phone. I have had multiple little things like this and I just turn my phone off and restart it. then it's gone. the phone doesn't have problems. it's a new phone. when new phones come out its rare I mean very rare when these things happen. just restart it.

A restart won't fix every issue. With a mass produced phone such as this one people can have lemons.

A restart doesn't always fix the problem.

It's not always the fix but it certainly doesn't hurt to start off with. It's like the search button. It's avaliable to everyone, many times you can get an answer by using it on your own but most people generally ignore it.

I factory reset my phone three times and it was still not functioning correctly. Got my replacement phone two days ago

After a week or 2 my phone will start to use more battery. A reboot usually fixes it.

It is a good point to start. I always do that before doing any heavy troubleshooting

Just in case some people haven't seen this feature, the phone can be set to automatically reboot itself every week. This is a really good feature to clear out memory and start fresh without having to remember it. The setting is under Backup and Restore, and then Auto Restart. I set mine to restart every Monday morning at 3AM.

Im on Verizon and I do not see a Auto Restart option in that settings, Wizzy. Is that possibly a carrier specific setting other than Verizon or are you on Verizon?

Verizon got rid of it I'm pretty sure.

Thanks for heads up clintw22. I guess I will just have to remember to restart from time to time manually still.

The Sprint S7 Edge has Auto Restart. In Settings, it is under Backup and Reset, then under the heading of Device Management.

I don't have that. Only the reset settings and factory reset. AT&T here.

Why would some providers take that feature away? Weird!
