Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
I tend to switch from iPhone to Android every year or so.
Switched to s7 edge because I saw the injustice edition and had to have it.
Having problems with the battery in the last 4 days owned. Battery is racing to its death everyday.

This was the phone on my night table at night for 5 hours.
Anyone have an idea?

Re: Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
So for 8hrs, you lost 14%, or roughly 1.5% per hour. On a brand new phone?
Seems ok. Samsung deep sleep battery saving will only kick in after a week or so, when it learns which apps you don't really use and will be alright to put to sleep when the phone is idle. It's mentioned right in the settings for advanced battery savings actually.
Then there's a bug with Google Back Up that prevents the phone from Dozing, so you can turn it off.

I was gonna hard reset tonight. No need then?

Re: Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
No not yet at this point. 1.5% per hour is actually pretty good depending on setup. That's close to my standby time with Tasker and a few other apps automated in the background. Although when Doze kicks in jt drops to around 0.7% per hour. Plus Doze isn't kicking in properly for you yet. Just make sure that you have app power saving on in the battery settings.

Re: Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
My concern is that at this point my battery is lasting alot less than my iPhone was. Ill wait a week and keep testing but i lost 13 percent not using it.
When I use it it's going down a percent every minute.

After some light use. My phone also feels warm.
Sorry just trying to make sure I'm checking everything before factory resetting it

Re: Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
are you using AlwaysOn display?

Re: Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
Android System should never be top of the list after much use at all so it's definitely not good. Unfortunately Samsung messed up the phones battery life with updates so it's what you can expect now. Nothing wrong with the hardware unfortunately.

Re: Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
Try clearing the cache partition. I usually do that after setting up a new phone.

Turn off the phone, then on turning it on, hold the power down and home buttons. Let go of the power button once you see the Samsung logo. One of the options there would be clear cache. Use the volume buttons to navigate and power button to select. Take care you don't accidentally wipe the phone.

Re: Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
You just got the phone, right?
If so, use it normally for a few days. It should stabilize after that.
Also, nice that you got the Injustice Edition. I had an opportunity to pre-order one after seeing an ad in the newspaper but I didn't pull the trigger, as I'm waiting for the soon-to-be-released Note 7.

Did Samsung change the process to enter recovery? Volume up used to be in the button combo.

I'm inclined to agree with this.

No, you are correct.
-
Re: Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
So I did clear the cache.
Battery has stabilized a bit. It's much better than the first couple of days.
It will still act up once in a while.
Is there a reason the iPhone standby battery time is better? Not a complaint, just curious. My iPhone would maybe lose a percent when left at night. This one tends to use more of its battery in standby

Re: Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
Only negative about the injustice edition is that it's an international phone and I have to deal with Att not recognizing the phone and having to play with a bunch of apn settings

iPhone battery management is scary. One of the few places Apple is better. If an i-thing is asleep , it will last for days. Android, not so much. I just got a 6s. Love the battery. Miss all the rest í ˝í¸‚

Overnight, Doze should activate and it should lose about 1% per hour. That's approx 4 days on standby. How much can iphone do? I find it hard to believe it would only lose 1% over 8 hours. I would install GSAM and check the held awake screen to see if Doze is activating.

At this point, I think that is the next thing to seriously consider.

Re: Battery draining fast.. injustice edition
Ok. Ya because just browsing and email is causing it to overheat a bit. Not to mention battery is plunging.
I'm putting some stats from the apps I have.
I had it plugged to my USB in the car from 8:45 - 10:15 and it went down 2% or else I think I'd be below 50 already. I unplugged a little before 7am
