I tend to switch from iPhone to Android every year or so.
Switched to s7 edge because I saw the injustice edition and had to have it.
Having problems with the battery in the last 4 days owned. Battery is racing to its death everyday.

This was the phone on my night table at night for 5 hours.

Anyone have an idea?

So for 8hrs, you lost 14%, or roughly 1.5% per hour. On a brand new phone?

Seems ok. Samsung deep sleep battery saving will only kick in after a week or so, when it learns which apps you don't really use and will be alright to put to sleep when the phone is idle. It's mentioned right in the settings for advanced battery savings actually.

Then there's a bug with Google Back Up that prevents the phone from Dozing, so you can turn it off.

No not yet at this point. 1.5% per hour is actually pretty good depending on setup. That's close to my standby time with Tasker and a few other apps automated in the background. Although when Doze kicks in jt drops to around 0.7% per hour. Plus Doze isn't kicking in properly for you yet. Just make sure that you have app power saving on in the battery settings.

My concern is that at this point my battery is lasting alot less than my iPhone was. Ill wait a week and keep testing but i lost 13 percent not using it.
When I use it it's going down a percent every minute.

After some light use. My phone also feels warm.
Sorry just trying to make sure I'm checking everything before factory resetting it

Android System should never be top of the list after much use at all so it's definitely not good. Unfortunately Samsung messed up the phones battery life with updates so it's what you can expect now. Nothing wrong with the hardware unfortunately.

Try clearing the cache partition. I usually do that after setting up a new phone.

Turn off the phone, then on turning it on, hold the power down and home buttons. Let go of the power button once you see the Samsung logo. One of the options there would be clear cache. Use the volume buttons to navigate and power button to select. Take care you don't accidentally wipe the phone.

You just got the phone, right?

If so, use it normally for a few days. It should stabilize after that.

Also, nice that you got the Injustice Edition. I had an opportunity to pre-order one after seeing an ad in the newspaper but I didn't pull the trigger, as I'm waiting for the soon-to-be-released Note 7.

Did Samsung change the process to enter recovery? Volume up used to be in the button combo.

So I did clear the cache.
Battery has stabilized a bit. It's much better than the first couple of days.
It will still act up once in a while.
Is there a reason the iPhone standby battery time is better? Not a complaint, just curious. My iPhone would maybe lose a percent when left at night. This one tends to use more of its battery in standby
