Going on a trip to Scotland and London next week. Are there any useful apps I should download before heading there to help make my trip run smoothly? Thank you

i was in London recently. Android Pay support for TfL had just been added. get an Oyster account, add it to your Android Pay and enjoy the trip.

Grab a London Underground map app. It's a fascinating multi-colored network of different lines.

rather than using an Underground map, i used Google Maps. it tells you exactly which lines to take and how many stops in between.

not sure if you're on the Google Trip beta, but that's a nice app to have if you've never visited a particular area before.

As for Scotland - give this app a bash.

It's useful for all transportation times throughout scotland.

This is not an app idea, but if you don't have a roaming plan or don't want to spend too much on mobile connection, you could buy a local prepaid card. They are quite cheap and for a few pounds you can get 500mb. I use to buy from Vodafone on my trips to UK.

If you want a useful travel app for London Citymapper is the way to go, best routes and has a tube map included as well. Hands down the best app for getting around the big smoke.
