Notice how the image distorts near the edge of the frame, making my hand appear as large as my head? I had the same issue with my Note 4, but don't remember it on any of my iPhones...
Is it a Samsung issue or Android or what?

If you're taking this with the selfie camera, it's not an Android or iOS issue: It's the lens. It has a slight fish-eye effect to capture a wider angle, causing stuff around the edges to distort a little. You shouldn't, however, see that effect (unless you apply that filter) in your rear-camera pictures.
