So I was looking up a music video on the Samsung browser and I get this pop-up that wouldn't go away, telling me that I have a virus and that if I didn't "update", my Android 6.0 device would be locked in 1 day. The website was amudrone.xyz and I can't find any hard info on them. They also said it was due to my browsing of adult content on my device...which I haven't done in quite a while.

Anybody hear of this? I'm assuming is a sham, but I definitely don't need my device getting locked up.

If I had a dollar for every time I've gotten spam notices like this I'd have a note 7. I wouldn't worry about it. I've gotten "FBI notices" just for visiting a torrent site.

I've been getting this too, and it's now every single time I try to use my browser. I have never clicked the "OK" that shows up, I always just immediately close everything that I have open -- so I'm sure I haven't unwittingly downloaded anything. Does anyone know how to get this to stop happening so I can use the browser? (It happens on Chrome, and on the built-in "Internet" app... I have no idea what that "Internet" one actually is, maybe it's just another way of opening Chrome.)

More annoying is the Samsung browser bug which makes one time in five the page you try to load completely blank. Only restating will help.

I didn't click on it either...just exited out. I closed the app, then as soon as I opened it, I hit the tabs button. I was able to close the page, and it all seemed fine. I haven't had the chance to check it out much more though. I'll go thru it later today.

Also, the "Internet" one is just called the Samsung browser. Usually it runs great and I've never had an issue with it...until last night.

Truman82, is this a common bug?

Close the browser (whichever one you're using), then clear its cache in Settings -> Applications -> Application manager. Optionally, you may also want to clear the cookies for the browser as well in the browser settings.
