Swaped Note 7 with s7 edge, and am shocked that the edge heated up a lot and asked me to get off VR and cool it after only around 30-40 minutes of use. Is this normal for the edge ? Note 7 only felt warm in this time. Its the new gear VR.

I haven't noticed this - I'm in the same boat btw. I only used the VR for about 20 mins but yeah it didn't seem any warmer than normal

This was very normal with my s6edge+. Haven't tried my note or s7 yet.

Is this only for the new VR or also for the old one ? Any fixes ?

This is for my s7 edge on the old gear vr. I've checked my social media and sent some text messages and my phone is out even through my otterbox commuter case. When I use it with the headset it's hot to the touch.

I personally haven't had an issue with my S7E and the new Gear VR. I played a 3d shooter game for a good 30 minutes. My phone was warm, not hot.
