As my title says, I'm a Firefighter. When I run for a call, I shove my phone down into a designated pocket. It's relatively safe there, but lets face it.......it's still in a Firefighter's gear! So I'm trying to find a screen protector that works! I need it to be case friendly, and not look or feel icky to take away from the beautiful phone that I have decided to keep (not trading back for another Note 7). Does ANYONE have a screen protector that's working???????? With a case??????? AND looks and feels good on the phone??????

Honestly I haven't found one yet. I've tried like 7 different ones and they all blow. I purchased the Samsung protection for 129 that covers everything for 2 years and called it good.

Unfortunately the only thing that would work for your 'extreme' conditions is either a tempered glass protector (which are all crap for curved screens) or a toughened case (that would take away from the looks and curved screen anyway). Bluntly, no 'film protector' will be good enough in your case

Or you could take a look at the 'Active' version of the phone.

Right now I have nothing on the screen, and an Otterbox Commuter case on it. Thinking about getting one of the ones that has the front cover, but I'm thinking that will end up annoying me. I'll have to attempt to be careful for now.

I use a Zagg HD film screen protector with my Otterbox Commuter. It's better than any other film-type screen protector that I've tried, but it doesn't feel or protect like glass. Insurance might be a good investment in your case. Maybe Square Trade or something through your carrier. Or even the Samsung protection mentioned above. Then you can just use your phone and not worry about it.

I'm a firefighter also. So far the only screen protector I've found that works is the bodyguardz hd. It's the $25 one from att. Thanks I use that and the zizo bolt case off Amazon when I'm running calls.

Best Skins Ever makes a case friendly screen protector. Works great. Works almost as good as Ghost Armor.

This is what I use. You cover the screen when you put it away. You use the screen bare when you need to. No crappy screen protector to deal with. It's very comfortable to hold, since the edges are curved on this case.

Forgot to mention I'm also a firefighter part time and I use a pelican protector case from att and no screen pro. I've had my phone in and out of my bunker gear numerous times without any issues. I still have zero scratches if that helps. I'm at the point where if I get enough scratches in the display I will accidentally drop it and send it in for a replacement.

I tried the rigid shaped ones - they are hopeless. In the finish I used a flexible sheet calling itself a Ghost Shield - it went on a treat, excellent instructions, stickers, online video etc. I was amazed at how tough it was - I was slightly out of alignment over one of the camera lenses when I finished and had not got bubbles so didn't want to lift it again. I therefore VERY carefully deployed the blade of a brand new Stanley knife and was astonished at how difficult the protector (in situ) was to mark. I had a real fight to cut into and remove the bit I needed to. Therefore, I am sure it will do a good job of protecting the screen. I think the fact that they stick to the screens a bit will prevent shattering - a bit like the way you add a bit of sticky tape to a bit of solid plastic - like a number-plate when you drill them

There's also a spray that you spray onto your screen and it dries and then you can't tell it's there and it's supposed to be really strong. If anyone knows what it's called please quote me.

FWIW on the back I have a standard silicone cover - if you are careful you can nicely overlap one over the Ghost Shield edges as I have done and it helps to keep the edges from being vulnerable.

Okay. So I bought an Armorsuit one. And I want to try it. But they say to leave your phone for 12 to 24 hours to dry. I mean really????? Who can do that! Has anyone used this screen protector? I can't believe this is such a pain!

JDfan3340 - if you are trying one of the rigid shaped ones I think you might be wasting your time - I tried three different ones, and they all presented gaps between the screen and the protector, didn't convey the touches well, I lost sensitivity, the 'edge' stopped working and they basically didn't work - in short I wasted my hard earned cash. Although the flexible screen plastic protectors don't look like they will do the job as well I am well pleased with mine. It has none of the drawbacks I've listed for the rigid ones.

This is what I am using:

    https://www.amazon.com/Blindado-Pel%...cUvbUpU5436117

What I love about it is that it covers the entire front of the screen so there is no film edge showing. With it being Tempered Glass, you don't have to worry about it feeling "filmy" or "Icky". It feels like you are using the phone naked.

As for fitting cases, I have not had any issues. My wife has an Otterbox Defender with this screen protector on it and the fit is perfect.

    Just an option.

Talderon - I guess the problems might be brand specific, but that looks very similar to all of those I wasted cash on - and some of mine were not cheap to buy either. That one might be OK, but on the basis of my own experience I wouldn't put a bet on it! FWIW I preferred the feel of a tempered glass finish too, but it was no good if it interfered with the functioning of the phone which is what I found with all those I tried.

Ah, ok. That I can understand. And to be honest, I am not anywhere nearly as hot as where you go.

Wish ya luck in finding something. I'll keep an eye out for you though.
