I have finally decided to give up on Apple and swap over to Android. I've always been interested in Android but my old phone always went to my wife's father who can barely manage with the iPhone

I'm particularly interested in the S7E. I'm wondering if anyone here knows of an online tutorial. I read something about double tapping the home button and other gestures but don't know what they do.

    Thanks for the help

As much as I love Android (I have used nothing else since my HTC Evo 4G back in 2011), Apple products are easier to use, but Android phones allow SOOOO much more by ways of customization! Of course this is just my opinion, as my last IPhone was the 3GS lol

Thanks for the manual link. Yes Apple is easy but annoying. Not being able to do what you want is frustrating (rearrange icons, delete pics from camera roll etc;...). Thanks for the info!

The ONLY thing Apple has over Samsung is their warranty, I love how painless Apple makes getting a device under warranty repaired/replaced at any Apple Store, my wife broke her screen on her iPhone 6 last year, because it showed no impact damage, they replaced the device!!!!! my wife went into the store expecting to fork over $129 for them to replace her screen, the camera on my S7 Edge **** the bed, I had to send the phone off to Samsung and play the waiting game for them to decide what they're going to do, had it been an iPhone I would have walked out of the Apple Store with a new device, all that being said, I absolutely hate this iPhone 6 I have to use while my S7E is being looked at, texting is awful, Siri doesn't hold a candle to google now, I'm confident you'll be 100% happy with an S7 OP

Thanks in looking forward to releasing the shackles. I'm still trying to figure out the "jailbreaking" of android. Not sure where to start or if it's worth it.

Really no need to "jailbreak" on this side of the fence. If you want something like titanium backup you'll need root access. It has been a long time since I rooted an android phone because the OS is plenty efficient as is. Android is a whole new world so be patient and don't try to treat it like iOS. Enjoy!!

The thing is, a number of stuff that you need jailbreak for iOS is available in Android without root. I haven't had the need to root my phone for several years now.

Have never root before on my previous note 2, 4 and current S7 Edge. It much harder than ios jailbreak.

Everything i need can be found among apps, setting, ui.

iTunes keeps me from investing in apple phones. If they ever give the option of dragging and dropping music/ photos etc I'd consider another iPhone. I do however love my iPad which has never been connected to my pc. Every android tablet I've had hasn't performed anywhere near the iPad and I don't need iTunes for my iPad. The g7e is an amazing phone, there's no doubt about that. Loving mine.

iTunes is a big turn off for me. I like the openness of Android. I watch a lot of movies on my phone and hate the process iTunes uses to copy movies to the phone. Thanks for the video! I'm still debating. My only decision is that my current contract expires at the end of February, so don't know if I should wait on the new model. Free phone and all.

Holy cow. I've had the Galaxies since the 4, and now the 7 Edge. I will never use 1/3 of this stuff. So cool to know it's there, though, I could use the features if I wanted to. Great video.

there is no need to root an Android these days, I used to root every Android the same day I bought it, not the case with the S7/S7E, first you lose your warranty, secondly, you lose the use of Samsung Pay, which may not be important to some, but I personally use and love it, biggest reason I used to root for was tweaks for better battery life, that's not needed with an S7/E, I get great battery life stock

    Hi,

I've been using iPhones from the iPhone 4 onwards.

My last one was the iPhone 6 Plus.

After watching their Keynote and having some hands on experience with the iPhone 7 variants I came to the conclusion Apple have come pretty much to a standstill with innovation. Ok losing the headphone jack isn't a deal breaker for me but to then replace it with a speaker grill with no speaker behind it is laughable !! iOS 10 isn't fully baked either.

I agree their warranty / customer support is good however if you do not want to outlay for Apple Care+ your stuck with 12 months warranty or an out of warranty mint refurbished purchase.

So on the 12th of this month I sold my iPhone 6 Plus and purchased a Samsung Galaxy s7 edge and even though the transition has been at times eventful I'm patient enough to work my way through it, use forums like these and good old Google and YouTube.

The customisation on this thing is just off the chart !

And I haven't even looked properly at custom launchers yet like Nova.

Wireless Charging is a pleasure to use. No more fiddling with inserting a Charging cord. I now have a Samsung Wireless pad in my bedroom and a Samsung Charging stand in my living room.

This may sound like little things but having the choice to put the app icon pretty much where I want on my home screen is awesome.

For me the change has been a very positive one.

I opted to purchase the official Samsung Black Leather Case and its premium quality.

I traded in my iPhone 6 Plus for S7 Edge too without contract. At my local dealer store. Check thoroughly my S7 Edge using #*0 test.

Before that i was on Note 2 and 4. One reason was the iSheep trend attracting me. After all it was 1st 5.5 inch iPhone ever created. Before my Note 2 i was using iPhone 4. Further back i was a Nokia users. The earlier was using Motorola Pager. HAHA.

Now im back to Android. The ui that Samsung built suited me. Not too keen to go back to iPhone though i was tempted. I almost click the buy button online just now. But i logout immediately. Dont plan of recontracting yet.

    .
This i exactly the reason why I am moving on. The ability to do what I want with my phone and no have it dictated to me. It may seem petty, but it's I can manage where I want my apps. I can manage my own pictures, and I don't like iTunes!

I use Android, but I have no issue with iOS. In fact, I use an iPad Mini 4 as well. I haven't rooted my last several Android devices, as I have felt no need to anymore. If I would, it would primarily be for deeper use of Titanium Backup. But to me, losing things like Android Pay and OS updates without fiddling around are not worth it.

It sounds like you know what you want, and have valid reasons for the switch. My wife has an S6 Edge, and she loves it! Samsung Pay is great! You will also like wireless charging if you decide to use it.

I was given an iPhone 6 from work and was using a personal blackberry passport. Miss the old but have loved getting the handle on me s7 Edge and have no regrets. With the iPhone I never felt fully comfortable on the vkb bit have found both the Samsung and the Google vkbs really comfortable.
