I'm having to tap twice

I've noticed that on my S7E that I need to tap twice on the screen for an action to take place. It's almost like it ignores the first tap. At first I thought that this might be an issue for the glass screen protector but I notice that it also happens on the home button.

Anyone else having this issue?

Does this warrant a factory exchange?

I've noticed that I often get this in the Gmail app. I have to tap on an email twice for it to open. Don't have the problem anywhere else though

Sounds like an issue with your screen protector. Many glass protector complaints have been with touch issues. I noticed similar issues when I had a glass protector on my note 7.

Check your accessibility options. Maybe something got changed inadvertently.

You probably turned on Voice Assistant.

Settings -> Accessibillity tools -> Visual aid -> Voice Assistant(not sure if those names are 100% correct I translated them from german)

If the Voice Assistant is turned on turn it off.
