If you didn't select the option to let you edit it first, then it goes straight to the SCREENSHOTS folder. If you have the option to show let you edit beforehand, it won't save until you specifically say SAVE (then it goes to the Screenshots folder).

The screenshots folder will be inside your DCIM folder.

You can also press the home and power button at the same time for a screenshot, which I find is actually easier for me.
