I just checked by long pressing the home button after seeing this thread and it looks like I have it now.

Both of my S7 Edge phones on Nougat have assistant now. T-Mobile here but the update came though the play store.

My unlocked US S7 Edge on MM has it also now.

WTF, I still haven't received it. Not on my S7 edge, axon7, or asus tablet running marshmallow.

It's not assistant. That's just an update to google now.

Yeah. I just noticed that. Oops. It says Google assistant on the screen, but obviously it didn't update yet.

It's not assistant. That's just an update to google now.

That's what I said. I still HAVEN'T received it on any of my devices including my S7 edge.

That's the (old) Google Now giving you info about Google Assistant since that's what's it's seeing on your screen right now (this forum thread about it)

Not me. Not on any of my 3 devices due to get it. I did read an article yesterday in which Google confirmed that it could take weeks before we see it.

Ok, it seems that no one who is updating Google play services with this method (APK mirror) is actually getting Google assistant to work. Guess we just have to wait.

Even if you have the right software versions, you won't get Assistant until Google whitelists your device on their end. There is no way to speed that process up. Manually updating is a waste of time since Google would update you when they approved you.
