Group text replies not going to group thread

I have an S7 edge with the Nougat update, and I've been using the Samsung Messages app for text messages since it's the fastest text app I've used.

However, when I send a group text, the replies are not going back to the group, but are going back to each person's individual thread.

When I switch to Google Messages, however, everything works perfectly. Replies to my group messages go back to the group as expected.

The problem is, Google Messages is extremely laggy and I'm not impressed with the UI, so I'd prefer to use the Samsung app (which looks really good after the Nougat update).

Is there any way to fix this issue that anyone has found?

Go to settings in the app, click more settings them multimedia messages and make sure group messaging is turned on. If it is I don't know what the problem is.

Unfortunately, there is no Group Messaging settings option in the Samsung Messages app (the Nougat version).

On the 'Multimedia Messages' settings screen, the options are :

• Delivery reports
• Read reports
• Auto retrieve
• Roaming auto retrieve
• Set restrictions

But there is no 'Group Messages' toggle. :(

I went 'Settings > More Settings > Multimedia messages' to get to that screen.

I have nougat too and here is what I see, I am on Verizon.

Can I ask what version of the app you have?

I went to Settings > Apps > Messages

in the phone Settings.

It says I have version 4.0.75.

It varies by carrier, not by app version.

BTW, Verizon is on 4.0.65.
