Sm-935a green line

My son has a galaxy s7 edge sm-935a that has a green line on the right side edge. It has no display, unless it's plugged in. I tried updating, and reflashed firmware through odin with no changes. He swears he didn't drop it or anything. Has anyone had this issue, or know how to fix it?

Unfortunately this is not uncommon. I have not yet seen a definitive cause, but it pretty much indicates a hardware problem with the screen. Not working without being plugged in could be a separate issue, bad battery, or could also be tied to the screen. I would suggest you take it to a repair shop, there is nothing I'm aware of that you can do for a fix. Sorry.

Not seen this before, i have mine with this common pink line close to one edge

As others have said, this unfortunately a hardware problem with the screen and nothing to do with the software. Your son could be telling the truth since this can happen without and physical impact damage. Some people get a Pink line across the screen.
