I am aware that the previous galaxy s6 did not support otg and external hardrive.
From what I understand otg support is back with s7 and s7 edge.
Does this mean the devices will be able to read external hardrives again. I need this feature to transfer downloaded media from the phone to the hardrive?

The note 5 does support otg. I don't have a hard drive but I used a. Micro usb memory stick and it works fine.

A mechanical hard drive requires more power so you may need an external power source (some external hard drives have 2 usb cables, one for power, one for data transfer)
