When I go to the Google Calendar app on my S7, and select the left-hand pane, I see three grouping of calendars:

*@gmail.com
Events
Reminders
My Calendar
My Calendar
*@hotmail.com
Samsung Calender

I understand the top and bottom ones, but where does "My Calender" originate?

My Calendar is just events that are stored locally, on your phone only and not synced with any cloud services.

Thanks. For some reason that is the default calendar being used which is obviously annoying. Is there a way to delete it or specify that all new events should belong to my Google calendar?

EDIT 1: Even if I hide that calendar, any new events I create belong to it (which therefore can't be seen remotely _or_ locally. Usability for the win. :-\)

EDIT 2: Tried uninstalling/reinstalled Google Calender, still no luck. It doesn't give you the ability to remove calendars or set default calendars. Pretty poor. Have instead installed aCalendar which does give this ability (not as pretty as Calendar but more functional).
