question about the carousel

my friend has a s7 edge and I have the s7. I noticed that when I move the home screen pages one to the next, it just does a plain side to side movement. but my friends s7 edge has a carousel movement when moving through the pages. he said he didn't do any changes and no launchers. does anyone else notice this?

I have an edge and I can see the page transition follow the edge screen around to the front, but I don't think it's a specific animation. I think it's just seeing it follow the curve of the screen that creates the illusion.
