I downloaded a high res image off of the internet, but the resolution appears to be lower than what the original photo was. I have a Galaxy S7.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you sure you're downloading the fullsize image, and not the thumbnail?

Yes, I am certain that I'm downloading the full size image. Is there maybe a setting on the phone that downloads images at a lower res to save space or something dumb like that?

How big is the image file that ends up on the phone? Is it in the 500K-1MB range, or more like <100K in size?
