Why does my S7 put calls on hold?

S7 puts calls on hold

My S7 puts calls on hold. My face is not touching the screen. The screen doesn't even light up. When it gets quite I look at the phone and the hold button is not pressed. A white box pops up at the bottom of the phone that says call on hold or call retrieved. This also happened with my s6 active after having it a yr. How can I fix this???

If you have two devices found the same thing it almost has to be a network thing. Are you using Advanced Calling? It enables HD voice and video calling. Not sure what carrier you have but are you using a network extender or other repeating device over internet? I would try looking at these things for the answer. Advanced Calling is under your network settings. You could unplug the repeater. If it's happening away from home I don't really have any suggestions for that situation.
