Because of my physical disability, using the standby button to lock the screen can be tricky and is not very practical. Is there another way to do this (I was thinking of re-mapping the "triple home button" function so that it locks the screen).

A solution would help me out a great deal!

    Thanks,
    Bram

You can set a very short screen timeout and set your screen to lock at time out, that way you wouldn't have to press any buttons. You can use 3rd party widgets that lock the screen as well (or if you're using a 3rd party launcher you might be able to add one for that 'activity'), but you'd have to navigate to the homescreen first. As far as re-mapping home button actions, I haven't heard anything that wouldn't require you to root/hack the phone, and probably widgets are easier to use without the risk inherent with rooting a device.

Try a widget from the Play store called Screen Off and Lock. It's convenient or I'm just lazy...or both.

    I second this recommendation.

Or if you want to remap the home button with multiple clicks you could use the app home2 shortcut. I used it to give the Note 4 the double tap home button launch camera function. No root required.

    Thanks for all the replies!
While browsing YouTube for some "must have" apps I came across easyHome, which is an app that turns your physical home button into an interactive button, like the "Previous" button next to it. Several functions can be assigned to a "short touch" and "long touch", and what do you know, "lock screen" is one of them!

For everyone looking for an alternative way to lock your phone, I highly recommend easyHome!

A lot of people don't like 3rd party launchers but my wife and I use Nova launcher and have it set up to double tap home screen.
