I have a 64gb sd card installed and have transferred apps to it, but can not find away to read what is on the sd card.

If it's installed as Adoptable storage, you can't, it's only available to the phone. Install it as Portable storage if you want it to be readable by anything else. (Adoptable storage is just part of the phone's filesystem - and the files on it aren't user-readable.)

Welcome to Android Central! The Galaxy line doesn't support Adoptable storage, so that shouldn't be the issue here. How did you transfer the apps? Using the App Manager, by tapping the Move to SD button for the app?

Use My Files to look at the SD card. Keep in mind that moving an app to SD only moves a relatively small portion of it, not the whole thing.
