    hold*the*Power*button and the*Volume Down*key*at the same time*for about 7-8 seconds.Your Galaxy S7 will vibrate, turn off and then reboot.

    Welcome to Android Central! As mentioned above, force a shutdown by pressing and holding Power and Vol Down. You might have to hold it for longer, like 15 seconds.

    Cant even turn my wifes s7 edge off as its asking for pin code to turn off . This morning it said on screen phone has restarted and when asked for pin code it wont take it but can't do factory reset everyone suggests as it wants pin code to shut down
    Help?

    Welcome to Android Central! If you keep holding Power and Vol Down (for 15-20 seconds), it should force a shutdown. Does that not happen?

    New Post: I have a galaxy s7, w/ unresponsive screen; have tried the Power and Vol down approach; phone turns off, but then immediately turns back on... I'm trying to activate new phone, and can't b/c current (broken one) won't turn off.. pls help!

    Welcome to Android Central! It's possible your Power button is faulty, and inappropriately sending a pressed signal. Why does the broken phone have to be off in order to activate the new phone? Which carrier are you on?
