Samsung pay with magnetic mount

hi everyone, I have an s7 (flat model) and spigen magnetic mount. s7 is in a tpu case and the metal plate/disk is placed inside the tpu case. Sometimes s-pay fails to work and I get a card read error on the terminal. I was wondering, if this is related to the metal disk placed in the tpu case?

of course I could try it immediately without the disk when I it fails.. but just wanted to know others experiences.. thx

Yup. Magnetic fields are used in Samsung Pay. I'd expect interference from the magnetic mount.

I had a similar setup with my S6, and for me the metal disk was not a magnet (only the base attachment on my car). However, I could see the metal disk becoming slightly magnetized by the mount's strong magnet. I didn't have any issues with using Samsung Pay with the metal disk (which I had positioned in the lower 1/4th area of my phone).

Note, I decided to not use the disk-magnetic mount system for my new S7 because I think it could have contributed to possible damage to the battery when using a wireless charger. Just speculation, but I don't want to take any chances with my S7.
