Headphone jack not working

Hello, I've recently discovered that my headphone jack is not working. When plugged in, all I hear is static. I looked up the problem and followed some tricks but it didn't do the job. I tried to put the headphone in and take it out multiple times, I tried to check to see if there's any dirt in the port. When I got this phone about a month back, the headphone jack was still working, I don't know what happened to it. Is there anything I can do here so I won't have to take it in for repair?

There's no lint stuck in the audio jack? Try to remove it with a toothpick if so.
