Annoying unchangeable alarm sounds

Can someone please advise me on how to change the alarm sounds?

I feel like an old-timer using new technology for the first time just asking this.

It was so easy on my Xperia Z2. It actually accepted my choice. Now it does not matter if I use a song in my internal "Downloads" area, or the "music" folder on my SD card. I downloaded File Manager, so that is where I select it from. Any choice I make, it always reverts to Morning Flower. I managed to get some songs on way back when i got this phone. It was very late at night so I do not recall how i got it sorted. I just remember almost throwing my phone at the wall then too.

Does anyone else experience this, or know how I can actually get it sorted?

Samsung's version of Android seems unnecessarily cumbersome compared to Sony's at times. For me at least.

I've never had issues choosing sounds. How exactly are you doing it? I go to the clock app, and setup an alarm. I use the default media storage chooser, not anything else, to choose the sound, and it sticks. It may be that you using something else is causing the problem. There is no need for a file manager app on Samsung phones.
