No, if you format the phone, it turns into a useless piece of plastic and metal.

If you regularly drain the battery to less than 40%, that could be the problem - that kills the battery. (Not as in "it needs to be recharged", but as in "it needs to be replaced".) Lithium batteries are not deep-discharge batteries.

Below 40? Really i let it get to around 10% before charging..Isn't that what we used to have to do?

The below 40 or below 10 thing should not usually matter if the battery is less than 1 year old. The effects of letting a battery run down regularly below 40 should not be noticeable until the battery is at least 12mo old or more. And this 4hr battery life is too much this early. The bigger problem would be if you regularly let it run out to zero.

Anyway, run the phone in safe mode and see how long the battery lasts in that situation.

I formatted 3 days ago and man it's like a new phone, same exact apps installed but my battery life is fine now. I used to charge my phone 4 times a day and now I only charge it once.

I just noticed, after the factory reset, the Android System usage dropped down from 30% to 11-15%

You won't see this right away, give it a day or two and you'll see the difference which is probably why I'm getting much better battery life now

I backed up and factory reset. Hoping for the best.

I wouldn't restore my apps / settings, start over as a new phone
