I got a Verizon S7 from Best Buy today.

I just went into settings and allowed it to check for updates The phone came with security updates dated Sep. 1, 2016. It found one update. So I let it download and install. It took a few minutes while the phone rebooted twice. When I noticed that it was done, I picked it up and was shocked at how hot the phone got. I have never experienced something like this where the the entire phone was extremely hot, not just certain parts. Every surface was hot.

I have owned several Samsung flagship phones over the year(Note 2/3/4/5/7, , S5, S6, S7 edge). I have NEVER experienced such high temperatures on any of them.. not even on the S7's big brother, the S7 edge.... is there something wrong with my 12-hour-old S7?

Thanks!

That wasn't a big update, but sure why your device heated up so much.. Has it done that since? If it persists, take it back to the dealer to get checked out lest it burns your house down....
