Using Smart Switch to transfer from iPhone 6

My husband just got the S7. We tried using Smart Switch to transfer data from his iPhone 6. The S7 screen has the rotating circle and says connecting to ios, but never connects. Does anyone know how to make this work? Thanks.

Did you install SmartSwitch on the iPhone? How are you connecting? Cable or WiFi?

No, according to the directions I read from several different sources you only install it on Android phones. I was trying to connect by cable.

I did get the contacts and Cale Dar entries using icloud sync, but still need to get the rest.

You could use Smart Switch on a PC. It can restore the data from an iTunes backup onto your phone.
