Could be:
1. Your male to male 3.5mm cable is bad. I can't tell if you mean that you tried different cables.
2. Your Aux port on your car is bad. Not sure if you were saying you tried a different device on Aux and it was fine or not.
3. After you plug into your Aux, make sure your phone's media volume is turned all the way up. The volume rocker on the side of the phone should do it when you are plugged in. Music playing through a phone on an Aux cable initially sounds like **** because the default volume on the phone is so low that you have to turn the car volume too far up to hear it so it crackles and distorts and sounds bass-less. You absolutely need to turn the phone volume up past the 'hearing loss' message and to the max to get full range of sound (only in car, but not with headphones). After the phone media volume is turned all the way up, you can adjust your car stereo volume to your preference. My experience just with phones in general, not this particular.
That is the limit of my knowledge on the subject as a fellow "aux" and android user. I am far from expert.
